Getting started

: Visit dearhim.ai and click "Get started." You can sign up with your email or a social login. No download is required — the full experience runs in your browser.
: No download is needed for the web app. The native iOS app is coming soon.
: After signing in, go to the Characters page, choose a personality from the roster, and start a conversation. Each character has a distinct style, perspective, and communication approach.
: Choose a character that matches the kind of perspective you need, share what's on your mind — a text you received, a situation you're navigating — and get honest, context-aware coaching. Use Wingman to get real-time suggestions while you're texting someone.
: DearHim is built for gay men and straight women dating men. The characters, coaching style, and content adapt to the audience you choose during onboarding.
: New users get a free trial with a limited number of messages. After that, a subscription is required to continue. You can view our plans on the Pricing page.

: DearHim offers monthly and annual subscription plans. Annual plans offer a significant discount compared to paying monthly. Visit the Pricing page for current pricing details.
: We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through Stripe. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also available where supported.
: Go to Account → Billing and click "Cancel subscription." Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. You won't be charged again after cancellation.
: Refund eligibility depends on your plan and usage. Review our full Refund Policy for details, or contact our support team if you believe a refund is warranted.
: Yes. An email receipt is sent automatically after each successful charge. You can also download past invoices from Account → Billing.

: We collect account information (email, authentication), conversation content necessary to power the AI experience, and usage analytics. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
: Yes. Your conversations are private and are used only to provide and improve your personal experience. We do not share conversation content with other users or sell it to advertisers.
: Go to Account → Settings and select "Delete account." This permanently removes your profile, conversation history, and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.
: Yes. Under applicable privacy laws (including GDPR and CCPA), you have the right to request a copy of your data. Contact us at privacy@dearhim.ai to submit a data request.

: DearHim works on all modern browsers — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. The native iOS app is coming soon. An Android app is in development.
: AI responses are generated in real time, so response speed can vary slightly. If you experience persistent slowness, check your internet connection, try a different browser, or clear your cache.
: Try refreshing the page. If the problem persists, send a description of the issue and any error message to support@dearhim.ai. Screenshots are helpful.
: The native iOS app is coming soon. The web app is fully mobile-responsive and works well on all smartphones via Safari or Chrome.
: No. DearHim requires an internet connection because AI responses are generated in real time on our servers.

: Characters are the distinct AI personalities you can chat with. Each one has a different communication style, perspective, and tone — from blunt and direct to warm and empathetic.
: The roster grows over time. Visit the Characters page to see all currently available personalities, each with a brief description of their style.
: Characters have fixed personalities by design — that consistency is what makes them useful. However, you can add personal context (about yourself, the person you're navigating) that shapes how they respond to you.
: Yes. Each character maintains memory of your past conversations within your account, so you don't have to re-explain context every session.
: Characters are AI — they can provide perspective, coaching, and pattern analysis, but they are not therapists or crisis counsellors. For mental health emergencies, please contact a qualified professional.

: Roster lets you add the people you're dating or talking to as profiles. Each person gets their own conversation thread so context never bleeds between different situations.
: Go to the Roster tab and tap "Add person." Give them a name or nickname and optionally add some context about them. You can then start conversations with any character in the context of that specific person.
: Decode lets you paste in a text or message you've received and get an honest analysis of what it likely means — tone, intent, red flags, and suggested responses.
: Decode is designed for analysing real dating and relationship messages. Content that violates our Community Guidelines — including explicit content involving minors or harassment — will not be processed.
